How to Make a Crème Brûlée Latte

    1. Pull 2 fresh shots of espresso.
    2. Steam the milk until silky and foamy. A good temperature to aim for is around 150°F (about 65°C). (If you don’t have a steaming wand on your espresso machine, click HERE to find more options on how to froth milk.)
    3. Add vanilla syrup and caramel sauce to your mug or glass.
    4. Pour in the espresso and give it a small stir to blend with the syrups, then top with the frothed milk.
    5. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar over the foam and torch it lightly for that brûléed effect.
    6. Drizzle caramel sauce on top for a final sweet touch.

    Iced Version

Craving something chilled? Drizzle caramel on the sides of a cup, fill it about ¾ of the way with ice, and add your milk. Mix the syrups with the espresso and pour it over the milk and ice. Top with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. Enjoy!

Brown Butter Syrup Storage & Shelf Life

To make prepping your Iced Brown Butter Latte even easier, you can batch-make the brown butter syrup and store it for future use. After making a batch of syrup, let it cool and then store it using these tips:

    • Separation Tip: Since butter and sugar can separate over time, warm the syrup a little bit, then shake or whisk it before adding it to your coffee for the best consistency.
    • Refrigeration: Store the syrup in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 1 week. The butter will naturally solidify, so give it a good stir or gently warm it before using.
    • Freezing: For longer storage, freeze in an ice cube tray and transfer the cubes to a sealed bag. It will last up to 1 month in the freezer. Just thaw a cube in the fridge overnight or warm it slightly before using.
