Maple Nut Macchiato

There’s something magical about fall mornings — that crisp air, the golden leaves, and of course, a cozy cup of something sweet and nutty. If you’re craving a drink that captures all those autumn vibes, say hello to the Maple Nut Macchiato.

This dreamy drink blends rich espresso, velvety milk, and a swirl of maple syrup with just a hint of toasted hazelnut — then gets finished with a drizzle of caramel sauce for that golden touch. It’s the perfect mix of cozy, sweet, and just a little decadent.

What Is a Macchiato?

A traditional macchiato is an espresso “marked” or “stained” with a small amount of milk or foam. It’s a bold drink for its small size.

But in the U.S., thanks to Starbucks and other coffee chains, most people think of a macchiato as a layered espresso drink that’s sweetened and topped with flavored syrups and milk foam, like the one pictured — and that’s the version this recipe celebrates.

Ingredients You’ll Need

How to Make a Maple Nut Macchiato

1. Pull Your Espresso

Brew your espresso and let that rich aroma fill the air. If you’re using brewed coffee instead, make sure it’s nice and strong — we’re going for bold flavor here.

2. Stir in the Sweet Base

Stir together the maple syrup and hazelnut with the espresso.

3. Milk

Hot Version: Steam your milk until it’s your desired consistency and temperature. (Recommended temp is around 145°F)

Iced Version: Pour the milk over ice.

4. Add the Espresso

Both Hot & Iced Version: Slowly pour your espresso over the milk — that’s what gives a macchiato its gorgeous layered look.

5. Drizzle and Enjoy

Top it all off with a drizzle of caramel sauce. Take a moment to admire your creation… then sip, and smile because you made such a delicious macchiato.
